The marking of the 60th anniversary of the Archives of Bosnia-Herzegovina and 10th anniversary of the Federation Archives was attended by two employees of the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro. Within the celebration, a promotion was held of the Bulletin of the Archives and Association of Archives of Bosnia-Herzegovina, collection of archival regulations of Bosnia-Herzegovina (1947-2007) and collection of works of Kasim Isović and a symposium on the informatization of the archives was held and addressed by representatives of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Croatia and Serbia.

The Archival Theory and Practice course within the Courants program had its 7th generation of students this year. Through conferences and practical demonstrations, debate workshops and visits to archives, 20 archivists from 20 countries were informed about the latest practice at French archives and presented their countries' professional experience. A representative of the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro spoke about the implementation of the Inventory Database in the preparation of documents for the exhibition Prince Paul – Prince Regent 1934-1941.

The 40th international Conference of the Round Table on Archives of the International Council on Archives was attended by 191 delegates from 66 countries, including a representative of the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro. The central topic of the conference – Cooperation to Preserve Diversity - was treated within four sessions. The following topics were dealt with within three sessions: archival principles and cultural diversity, archival services and modernization of the public sector and results of cooperation among libraries, archives and museums. Resolutions reflecting the work of the professional part of the conference were adopted at the fourth session.

This year's 29th symposium in the organization of the Maribor Province Archives, was attended by participants from Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia. During the three days of the symposium, 50 papers were presented, treating the problems of preservation of electronic documents, classification, protection of archival holdings, special features of audio and visual archives and specific examples from the archive practice. The symposium was opened by Archives Director Slavica Tovšak and participants were also greeted by State Secretary at the Slovenian Culture Ministry Jelka Pirkovič. |
