Cooperation between archives

At the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro on May 19, 2005 the exhibition Kragujevac in the Old Maps, Plans and Drawings was opened. It was prepared by the Kragujevac-based Historic Archives of Šumadija.


Cooperation with scientific institutions

In 2005, the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro intensified cooperation with the Institute for Modern History, Institute for the Recent History of Serbia, School of Philosophy, archives and other scientific institutions.
A form of cooperation with these institutions is the publication and promotion of collections of archival documents, books, monographs and other publications created on the basis of research of archival holdings at the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro.

A collection of papers Big Forces and Small States in the Cold War 1945-1955, the Case of Yugoslavia was issued and promoted. The collection was published in cooperation between the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro and the Department for the History of Yugoslavia at the Belgrade University's School of Philosophy, Institute for the Recent History of Serbia and LSE Cold War Research Centre in London. The papers were presented at a symposium held at the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro in early November 2003. The collection was promoted on June 15, 2005 at the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro, and speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr Milan Ristović and Prof. Dr Ljubodrag Dimić.

In cooperation with the Institute for Modern History two books were presented on January 26, 2005:

  1. Quarantine for Ideas – Camps for the Isolation of Suspicious Elements in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes 1919-1922, by Mr. Goran Miloradović and
  2. Belgrade University in 1944-1952, by Mr. Dragomir Bondžić.

The books were presented by Prof. Dr Milan Ristović, Prof. Dr Ljubodrag Dimić, Dr Momčilo Pavlović and the authors.

Another book was presented at the Archives Inhabitants of Mt Rudnik and Takovo in Serbia's Liberation Wars in 1912-1918, by Isidor Đuković, which was partly based on the archival holdings of the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro. The promotion was organized in cooperation with the municipality of Gornji Milanovac on April 12, 2005.

In cooperation with the Institute for the Recent History of Serbia, at the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro on December 14, 2005, two books by the Institute's associates were presented. The books were written on the basis of the research conducted at the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro:

  1. Primary Education in Serbia in 1918-1941, by Dr Momčilo Ilić and
  2. Belgrade in 1960-1970, Supplies and Food, by Slobodan Selinić, M.A.

The books were presented by Dr Momčilo Mitrović, Prof. Dr Ljubodrag Dimić and Dragomir Bondžić, M.A.

Successful cooperation continued with the School of Philosophy – Department for the History of Yugoslavia. At the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro a so-called – student workshop was organized for the students of the final year of history. With their Professor Ljubodrag Dimić, according to the agreed program, students visited the Archives on four occasions (in April and December). They were informed about the activities of the Archives, funds and collections and were shown how to use the holdings. They got the insight into a number of means of information (inventories and lists) and documents from the fund for the topics of their interest. Cooperation with the School of Philosophy – Department for the Yugoslav History, has lasted for a number of years and will continue to our mutual satisfaction.

Cooperation with the Megatrend University started at their request. Megatrend students had exercise at the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro, they were informed about the history of the Archives building, work of the Archives, depot and way for using the holdings. Cooperation with Megatrend is planned to continue.
