Forum: SAVING AND SHARING MEMORY WITH OTHERS

The Archives of Yugoslavia, in cooperation with the Nikola Tesla Museum, initiated a forum entitled SAVING AND SHARING MEMORY WITH OTHERS. By presenting the work of the Archives, as well as that of other cultural heritage protection institutions holding archival materials, the organizers aimed at initiating the exchange of experience and encouraging expert discussions on the application of contemporary answers in domestic archival theory and practice. The first case study is dedicated to the personal archives of Nikola Tesla.  
Presentations of experts of the Nikola Tesla Museum and experts involved in projects of the Museum, the exhibits of the Museum, projections and presentations of Museum editions, all represent answers to the complex task of processing the personal archives of Nikola Tesla and making them available to the public.

Visit to the Archives of Kosovska Mitrovica University School of Philosophy history students

The Archives of Yugoslavia was visited on June 4, 2009 by 20 students from the History Department of the Kosovska Mitrovica School of Philosophy and assistant lecturer Dalibor Elezović, M.A. Nada Petrović and Milan Medaković, department heads at the  Archives of Yugoslavia informed the students about the Archives, its fonds and collections, history and building. Dušan Jončić, one of the authors of the Yugoslavia in International relations 1918-1922 exhibition, showed the exhibition to the students.
Within further cooperation between these cultural and research institutions, the exhibition of archival documents Yugoslavia in International Relations 1918-1922 will be organized at the Kosovska Mitrovica School of Philosophy. The exhibition will be open during the international symposium on Kosovo and Metohija in the civilization processes on October 7-11, 2009.

Cooperation of the Archives and the Andragogy Department of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy
With the aim of educating the young and getting them familiar with institutions of culture, the Archives of Yugoslavia was visited on March 11, 2009 by 30 students of the first year of the Andragogy group from the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. In agreement with Katarina Popović, Ph.D., Dean of the Andragogy Department, students were informed about the Archives of Yugoslavia, its history, building, competencies, reading room and means of researching and using the holdings of the Archives by Nada Petrović and Milan Medaković, directors of the Archives of Yugoslavia.
