The Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia visited the Archives of Yugoslavia

Newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia H.E. Seyf Allah Rejeb accompanied by the Secretary of the Embassy Mrs. Rаnde Ben Amar and the translator Jasna Vidmar visited the Archives of Yugoslavia on November 14, 2017. On that occasion Mr. Ambassador met newly appointed Director of the Archives of Yugoslavia Dr. Milan Terzić.
In the previous conversation with Mr. Bem Amar ( November 9, 2017)  with the consent of the Ambassador it was agreed to publish prepared exhibition catalogue of documents on diplomatic relations of two countries by the end of this year, while the exhibition will be put on in the Archives of Yugoslavia in the beginning of the next year.
During conversation between the Director of the Archives and Mr. Rejeb it was proposed to invite some of the ministers of the Republic of Tunisia for the opening of the exhibition who could open the exhibition together with the corresponding minister from the Republic of Serbia. The Ambassador of Tunisia also suggested the title of the exhibition “Tunisia – Belgrade – One Century of Diplomatic Relations” and he suggested as well to add two more documents, one from 1916 informing about choosing the location for the Serbian Military Cemetery in Bizerte and another one from 1939 about independence of the Tunisian side in performing trade with Yugoslavia even though Tunisia was still under French Protectorate.
Since H.E. Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia is expert in the field of archival material that is preserved in the Archives of Tunisia, especial documents dealing with the Non Aligned Movement, future mutual project – Collected documents on bilateral relations was also agreed on that meeting.
